Ajax Cape Town terminate contract of long-serving midfielder Toriq Losper

Toriq Losper has left his boyhood club following 17 years of service, having arrived at Ikamva at the tender age of nine.

This has been announced by the Urban Warriors, who have also released former captain and another youth academy graduate in Travis Graham just a week ago.

"Ajax Cape Town and Toriq ‘Tokkie’ Losper have mutually agreed to part company," read a statement from the club.

Losper made his professional debut seven years ago, racking up over 100 appearances for the Cape-based outfit, from whom he spent a brief loan spell at Bidvest Wits in the 2014/15 campaign.

Ajax are currently in a period of uncertainty as to where they will be plying their trade next season, with the PSL set to appeal a High Court ruling that effectively reinstated the club to 15th position on the 2017/18 Absa Premiership log, after initially being relegated by a SAFA Arbitrator award in May.

This all stems from the protracted saga involving Zimbabwean striker Tendai Ndoro, who has since been released from the club, contravening Rule 5.3 of the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players by playing for three different clubs in one season.
