Mammila spoke out following a recent report indicating Chawapiwa, who the club values at R3-5 million, is on his way to Kaizer Chiefs.
Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns have also been linked with the 26-year-old's signature, with Mammila concerned such speculation could unsettle the winger.
"You know we are not a difficult team [to deal with]. All we are asking is the same treatment you know," Mammila tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"We are in the same league, we are 16 PSL teams. All that we asking is the same treatment. So how on earth do you go and confirm the sale of a player ... and that our boy has been sold to Chiefs while we don't know anything about that. So this is a serious damage to our team you know, and now we have to explain to our supporters because they don't know anything. This is unprofessional. Talent is part of the team, people have been asking questions and now we must answer about something that we don't even know. So I'm so disappointed. If that's how we gonna get treatment I don't know then.
"The player belongs with the club for two more years to come and two years' option. It's four years, two years plus two years' option. If maybe we had an offer from Chiefs yes we would understand and assume that maybe they were told that there is an offer. We don't have anything from Chiefs, nothing. I don't even have any offer for this boy, what if it comes to the first game and this boy doesn't perform and is accused that it's because he wants to go to Chiefs? And this is not good for us. So we pleading with all the media companies, we know they are the sponsors of football in South Africa ... without media we are nothing. All we are just asking it's respect ... let's respect the brand. You know if you can respect one of the 16 teams, surely you can respect all of them."
The player's representative Michael Ngobeni was on a similar page to Mammila when contacted for comment.
"(laughs) When did this happen because the boy is not here, is he not in Zim?"
"I don't know about it you know. If club to club they have done the deal surely I would know. But can they do that without telling the player? Yes, they can do it but I don't know anything about it, zero. If Morgan has done the deal then ... I don't know but I spoke to Morgan, he never told me this. There is no such a thing ... yet, you know.
"Ja, we are just trying to see because Chiefs they don't have a coach right now uyabona. And also you saw they are just releasing players, surely they will consider you see. But they haven't phoned me for it. We know they are interested but they haven't tabled anything as yet, there's nothing uyabona? Look, he is a good player broer, who doesn't want him? Sundowns wants him too, it's not a secret. So, ja that's from me broer."
