Baroka chairman Khurishi Mphahlele still hunting for reinforcements

Bakgaga, who have appointed former Zambian national team coach Wedson Nyirenda as their coach, unveiled 10 players during a press conference last week, but Mphahlele says they are always looking for players who can add value to the team.

Baroka have signed Elvis Chipezeze, Tshediso Patjie, Bheki Maliba, Thabo Moseki, Bonginkosi Makume, Siseko Manana, Armand Gnanuillet, Ananias Gebhardt, Shabani Hussein and Orebotse Mongae.

“No, you cannot say you are finished with players. Players are like children; they get born everyday,” Mphahlele says.

“You can say that you are finished signing players, but then a gem comes my way. You can’t turn him away. We are always looking for players to help us. But for now, we believe we can start the league with what we have.”

Mphahlele says the club will not be travelling during pre-season, like they did in the past when they went to Zimbabwe and Johannesburg.

“This year we are staying at home, because last season we performed well away from home but we performed badly at home. So we want to perform better at home, so we will be staying at home during pre-season.”
