Baroka content with opening-day opponents AmaZulu

Mammila says their previous season-opener was not so kind to Bakgaga as they were paired up with Limpopo derby rivals Polokwane City.

"Now we are relaxed, we chilling," Mammila told snl24.com/kickoff.

"I was looking at the fixture, I think it's acceptable for us. Although it is not an easy game but it's one of those you can plan for. You can have positives by merely looking at the fixture you know. Last season the first game it was a derby and you know derbies, you can't predict with the derby because whoever is on a high mood ... you know. So we didn't win the game, it was a draw, and [this time] I'm playing AmaZulu away. I think last season I haven't lost to AmaZulu. So I think it's more of a continuity for me to be honest."

Mammila says the club will begin their pre-season camp at home in Limpopo but plan to line up one or two friendlies in Gauteng.

"We are doing inhouse in Limpopo, then we will go out for friendlies around Joburg. It means I'm not gonna go to Durban because my first match is in Durban. We might have one [high-profile friendly], we are having a meeting, but surely I will play Chiefs. I will play maybe Sundowns, but Sundowns are opening early in the Champions League so I might not play them. But Chiefs surely I will play them. Maybe I will drive to Joburg so that I can get maybe two friendlies, play Chiefs and other. Ja, maybe Wits."

Turning attention to player movements within the team, Mammila said although they are not planning to release any member of their current squad, there are a few men that are under assessment at the club.

"At this stage there's nothing. Maybe in the last minutes but for now nothing, and to be honest I don't think I will be releasing now. I think I'm happy with the team that I have and ... game on! Let's begin, I'm ready. Ja I might add. I have got two trialists with me. One of them was a top goalscorer of a certain country, I think I like him. But we will take it from there. If the coach is happy then I will sign him."

Pressed further to reveal the names of the players, Mammila flatly refused.

"I'm not gonna tell, people will come and steal my players."
