Masoabi, who won the scoring accolade with 16 goals for Kick4Life last term, impressed Leopards' scouts at the recent COSAFA Cup in Polokwane.
His compatriot Tumelo Khutlang is likewise currently training with Lidoda Duvha in Limpopo ahead of his expected unveiling by the club.
Kick4Life director Chris Bullock confirmed Masoabi is being assessed by the Absa Premiership newcomers.
"We are aware that he is in South Africa for trials with Black Leopards," Bullock tells snl24.com/kickoff from Maseru.
"We have said it that we will not stand in his way if he gets a chance to play in the PSL."
Leopards are also set to rope in the services of former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Chris Matombo.
