Chiefs’ head coaching position has been vacant for nearly two months since the resignation of Steve Komphela, whose contract was anyway set to lapse at the end of this month.
Pressure is mounting on Amakhosi to make pronouncements on their plans for the upcoming season.
The club have been linked with various candidates, including the likes of Avram Grant, Ruud Krol and Patrice Carteron, with the latter two having since been snapped up elsewhere in Africa.
Local rivals Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns have also been busy in recent days with regards to new signings, while Chiefs have only just announced a player exodus.
Motaung has since issued a statement relating to their ongoing hunt for someone to take up the hotseat as well as their progress on bringing in new players.
“We are in the process of acquiring the new coach and working on bolstering the squad with new signings,” Motaung said.
“It will be just a matter of time before we will make further announcements. We are aware of the anticipation from our stakeholders, considering that we have not seen much success recently.
“We are working around the clock to find the right coach and players to sign. We are left with about two weeks before the start of pre-season training and will try to finalise most of these movements before that.”
Players are expected to report for duty on June 25, with their first high-profile fixture being the Shell Helix Ultra Cup against the Absa Premiership champions Downs on July 21, with the Carling Black Label Cup having been called off due to the FIFA World Cup.
