Cape Umoya United's Roger de Sa reveals when pre-season training will start

De Sa recently returned from the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and now the focus is to ensure Cape Umoya are ready for the new National First Division season, after Stars were relegated from the Absa Premiership. The club has relocated to Cape Town.

“Yes, we’ve relocated and we are going to start pre-season on Monday,” De Sa tells snl24.com/kickoff.

De Sa would not reveal which players are going to leave or stay with the club. A number of players, such as Lehlogonolo Masalesa, Raymond Monama, Dino Visser and Maboke Matlakala are expected to leave. Matlakala looks set to join Free State Stars, while Ryan de Jongh has recently been unveiled by Bloemfontein Celtic.

“Well basically a lot of players have been approached by other clubs, some in the PSL of course. So we have opened up that door for players to get an opportunity to go elsewhere,” the former Orlando Pirates coach says.

“Ryan de Jongh has already been signed up [by Celtic] and others will be re-negotiated and kept. Others will be let go.”
