Masango, 29, was hoping to impress in Tembisa but according to Lions of the North head coach Owen Da Gama, the player was let go last week.
"No, Masango is no longer training with the team," Da Gama tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"He stopped last week. A decision was taken... no, he is a good player but a decision was made that it's not a priority at this stage of the season considering our [league] position."
Da Gama also confirmed that central midfielder Jabulani Shongwe was still training with the team.
