Jabulani Shongwe still in contract talks with Highlands Park

Da Gama has been very impressed with the former Mamelodi Sundowns, Bidvest Wits and Golden Arrows midfielder but says he will not pressurise the management to get things done faster.

The Witbank-born player has been training with the Lions of the North for a month now after parting ways with Chippa United in January.

'ODG' denies reports Shongwe will be signing with the club today.

"No, I don't know where are they getting their stories hey, we are still discussing with management, and the management is still discussing with his agent, and then a decision will be made," Da Gama tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"There's no date set, it could be today, it could be tomorrow, it could be next week. It could be anytime, you know once you speak to the directors you can't put them under pressure. They have their meetings and then they will decide."

Larry Brookstone, who is one of the club directors, refused to give comment on the Shongwe situation.

"I can't answer that question unfortunately at the moment," he said. "But I haven't signed him yet, and unfortunately I'm not going to comment on that."
