Buchanan was recently released by The Glamour Boys, after two difficult seasons of limited game-time under former coach Steve Komphela.
The former Bloemfontein Celtic star made just four starts since his arrival in July 2016, when much was expected of him upon receiving the esteemed no. 10 jersey.
Following his departure, Buchanan holds no grudges against the club and wishes to thank chairman Kaizer Motaung for the opportunity to don the black and gold, albeit mostly in training.
“I must say I’m grateful to the chairman for the opportunity to be part of the club, which was one I grew up watching and loving,” Buchanan tells snl24.com/kickoff.
“But there’s no use in me crying that I never got an opportunity [to play regularly]. I can’t make it an issue, it obviously just wasn’t meant to be.
“I didn’t get to start more than two successive games, so I was never able to really make the [midfield] position my own.
“But that’s now water under the bridge. I’m not focused on the fact that I never got a chance, I’m just focused on what I need to do now.”
