Mamelodi Sundowns forward Keletso Makgalwa back in Gauteng after Maritzburg United released him

Makgalwa joined the Team of Choice at the start of the current campaign, hoping to make a success of his time in KZN. Sundowns loaned out Makgalwa to Maritzburg due to the fact that competition was tight in the team and he needed a chance to play regularly to gain more experience in the top flight.

The under-23 star has joined the likes of Bokang Tlhone, Yazid Atouba and Motsie Matima, who were all released by the Team of Choice a few weeks ago. It seems the player was not in coach Eric Tinkler's plans.

According to a source at Maritzburg, Makgalwa has since returned to Sundowns.

He played 19 matches in all competitions for Maritzburg, before leaving.

"The club has released him. He is now back in Gauteng and remember he was on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns,” said the source.

The 22-year-old has been included in David Notoane's national under-23 provisional squad, ahead of the team's two-legged clash against Angola later this month.

Maritzburg, meanwhile, take on Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership at FNB Stadium today.
