It has been reported that the 27-year-old centre-forward is a frustrated figure at Chloorkop, sparking rumours that he is looking for greener pastures due to the lack of game-time since signing for the champions last June.
Meza is competing with players like Jeremy Brockie, Aubrey Ngoma and others for a place in Sundowns' star-studded squad.
Mosimane was clearly irritated when probed about Meza’s future and requested some "respect" from the media.
The CAF Champions League-winning coach said if he is asked about Meza, then there should be questions about several of the other players in his squad that also crave more regular action.
"Meza? Brockie. What about Brockie? Why Meza? What about Brockie? What about Aubrey Ngoma? I mean why you go to Meza, is he your buddy?" Mosimane asked reporters.
"I am giving you names, ask about more, Meza? I mean guys, should I take [Lebohang] Maboe out for Meza to play? Ask about others, be intelligent, you don’t want to ask about Brockie?
"Ask! Ask about Aubrey Ngoma, go on. Go, go, go on... yeah! I mean really, at Sundowns you’ve got to play hey, you’ve got to earn your stripes.
"Maboe, are you happy with him? Seven goals? He’s okay? Who scores seven goals? Seven at this time, he’s okay? The boy from Maritzburg? I mean really, give him the credit."
Mosimane also did not want to elaborate on whether he thinks Maboe is a contender for player of the season, but did mention on television that he would choose Hlompho Kekana if it were up to him.
