Thela Ngobeni admits Kaizer Chiefs transfer is still possible

The Amakhosi development product has revealed that time was too short and it was impossible to conclude any deal for him to move back to Naturena in January.

Although he referred all questions regarding his possible move to the Soweto giants next season to his agent Mirko Agnelli, the 29-year-old did shed some light on his situation.

"As for a decision, I haven't taken it yet my brother, you know," Ngobeni tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"I think it's better to speak to Mirko with that one because he is the one who was speaking to them [Chiefs]. I don't want to indulge too much on these things at the moment.

"Look, I think honestly obviously the only thing that I can tell you for sure is that there was contact, we spoke, but the deal couldn't come through because of the time that we had. Without denying what you are saying, of course there was contact but we found out ukuthi isikhathi sincane [the time was little] so the deal couldn't happen.

"You see that's the challenge, that's why I'm saying it is better if you speak to Mirko so he can explain it to you in terms of where it ended, and going forward, so he can be able to tell you his side because obviously some of the things I feel they are confidential at the moment, because some are not yet final.

"So that's why I say I can only tell you that there was something in the pipeline, but it couldn't happen in the [January transfer] window. Meaning going forward he [Mirko] is the only person who can tell you what might happen, or what is currently happening."

Asked if it is possible to see him in Chiefs colours next season, Ngobeni did not rule it out.

"I won't deny that one, anything is possible to be honest because I'll be free obviously to join any team so anything is possible," he replied.

"And ja... also Chiefs have goalkeepers at the moment. I also don't want to comment on the... it will look as if I'm saying the other keepers are not doing well there so... but anything is possible on my side."

Agnelli could not be reached for comment despite numerous attempts.
