A stellar performer in the Banyana Banyana shirt, captain Janine van Wyk is achieving more than what meets the eye. Here's a look at a deal she bagged with a branch of Korean automaker, Kia!
The Story
It might come as a surprise to a few but the Van Wyk is the proud founder of Janine van Wyk FC, an accomplished and fully-fledged women's team. The veteran is currently on national team duty leading Banyana Banyana's hopes of a continental crown.
Nevertheless, the women's game is often given very little coverage, meaning that many avid supporters miss out on the many great things that have been accomplished thus far. We've decided to take a closer look at the veteran defender's success as a club owner.

No good deed goes unnoticed
With a whole host of sponsors attached to her club, the centre teamed up with car dealership Kia Edenvale earlier this year, in a deal that saw her club receive a stunning Kia SUV.
Whichever way you look at it, this is a huge deal as the woman's game continues to be underfunded despite continued success on the field, thus every partnership is a significant piece in developing the game.
Other affiliates of the club include Nike, Black Stone Futures, SKLZ, and Nut butter Mafia.
Did you know?
Van Wyk, who has served as captain since 2013, is the most capped national team star, holding a record amount of appearances for the country (both male and female teams).
