Billiat fires Zimbabwe past Namibia at Orlando!

Namibia 0-1 Zimbabwe

Namibia's struggles in Group J continued after a 1-0 loss against neighbours Zimbabwe who jumped to the top of the group standings.

Played at the Orlando Stadium in South Africa, the match was played behind closed doors with no spectators allowed in this crucial six-pointer.

However, the Warriors showed the steel and secured a vital win to aid their qualification chances as former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat netted a first penalty to seal it all.

As a result, Zimbabwe have moved to the top of Group J while the Namibians remain rooted to the foot of the table.

Ghana 0-0 Sudan

Ghana's disappointing run in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers continued after a stuttering goalless draw against Sudan on Thursday.

The Black Stars are yet to win since the qualifiers commenced and have now collected just three points from the opening matches in the group.

The two nations will meet once again in five days at Martyrs of February Stadium in Benghazi.

Democratic Republic Congo 1-0 Tanzania

Democratic Republic Congo remained on top of Group H following a 1-0 win over Tanzania and continued their perfect start in the qualifiers.

The Taifa Stars, who came in the game on a high, are in second spot on four points but an own-goal from Clement Mzize was enough to hand the host the victory.

However, there will be a chance for the Taifa Stars to get their own back when the two collide again in a few days time in the second clash in group.

Cape Verde 0-1 Botswana

Botswana stunned the Cape Verde Islands 1-0 to get their first win in the qualifiers in Group C and moved level on points with their counterparts.

The winning effort came after just two minutes played with Jwaneng Galaxy's Tumisang Orebonye on target and ultimately steering the Zebras to victory.

Cape Verde will look to avenge the loss though as the two nations battle it out again on Tuesday in the return leg of the clash.
