Cameroon 1-1 Guinea
Cameroon needed to come from a goal down to hold Guinea to a 1-1 draw in their Africa Cup of Nations opener in Group C.
Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana, who arrived late in camp, did not get the start as shot-stopper Fabrice Ondoa held the line between the sticks.
Guinea made the perfect start on ten minutes as unsettled bit of defending from the indomitable Lions presented Mohamed Bayo to step in and tuck through the legs of Ondoa.
Drama unfolded before the break after a nasty challenge by Francois Kamano on Frank Magri left the player needing treatment as the referee went to the pitch-side screen, reviewed the incident, and dismissed the Scorpions skipper.
Cameroon managed to bounce a few minutes in the second half as Magri combined with Georges-Kevin N'Koudou's assist to rattle the net.
There were some late drama as the two nations looked to go for the win, with Karl Toko Ekambi inches close with a snap shot in the box but it was repelled by Ibrahim Kone.
In the end, the spoils were shared granted neither side were able to get the maximum points as the Indomitable Lions entertain Senegal in their next match with Guinea facing Gambia.
Senegal 3-0 Gambia
Senegal started their Africa Cup of Nations with a dominant 3-0 victory over ten-man Gambia on Monday.
Captain Sadio Mane led the Teranga Lions and other star personnel in Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ismaila Sarr started too with Chelsea's Nicholas Jackson on the bench.
The title holders didn't need a lot of time to get stuck in as Papa Gueye slammed in the bottom-corner from the edge of the box following Mane's reverse pass.
Tom Saintfiet's men were reduced to ten players on the stroke of halftime when Ebou Adams got his marching orders for coming-together in a dangerous position.
Senegal managed to increase their lead shortly after the break through Lamine Camara, who latched onto Sarr's pass before bulging the back of the net.
Camara bagged a second with four minutes to go when dropped out on the edge of the box and curled in the top-corner- giving goalkeeper Baboucarr Gaye no chance.
