Namibia opened their Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 1-0 victory over Tunisia in Group E on Tuesday evening.
Ali Maaloul, Ellyes Skhiri, Anis Ben Slimane and Youssef Msakni stood out from the Carthage Eagles' eleven, whilst Namibia's starting stall consisted of Peter Shalulile, Deon Hotto, Riaan Hanamub and Lloyd Kazapua notably.
The Namibians enjoyed a purposed opening spell where a first-time shot in the area by Shalulile produced a close-range stop from Bechir Said before a goal-line clearance followed at the same time.
Tunisia had to produce a substitution 15 minutes on the clock as Yassine Khenissi went stretchered off after picking up a knock and watched Haythem Jouini summoned on.
Collin Benjamin's continued seeing the majority of the attacking intent, with the Carthage Eagles struggling to deal with the off-the-ball runs of Hotto and Shalulile.
A show of intent from the Carthage Eagles a minute after halftime nearly paid off as a flying header at the near post by Msakni from Ali Maaloul's corner drew sharp reflexes from Kazapua.
Namibia replied in the way of a low cross from the right where Shalulile positioned perfectly to launch a side-foot effort, but a last-gasp goal-line clearance denied the Mamelodi Sundowns man.
The Brave Warriors refused to crack ten minutes to fulltime and another breath-taking save from Kazapua smothered Slimane's looping header.
Said also came to the fore for the Carthage Eagles when he tipped a powerful curling free-kick by Hotto over the top in the remaining four minutes.
The Orlando Pirates stalwart atoned with a minute to go as he beat the offside trap to head in the top corner from a tight angle.
Hotto could've grabbed a brace in added time through a tap-in from point-blank range, however it was disallowed following an offside.
The Brave Warriors weren't bothered and went on to claim their first-ever win at the continental finals.
