Egypt end AFCON qualification with victory

Egypt 1-0 Ethiopia

Egypt finished their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign on a positive note after they edged Ethiopia 1-0 in a Group D clash at the 30 June Stadium on Friday.

Pyramids' Mostafa Fathi was the difference maker as he netted the only goal around the end of the first half after a lapse of concentration from the visitors.

The Walia concluded their participation in the qualifiers for the continental showpiece at the bottom of the group, while the Pharaohs finished on top.

Burkina Faso 0-0 Eswatini

Burkina Faso were left frustrated in Marrakech as a gutsy Eswatini refused to breakdown and claimed a goalless draw in Group B.

With qualification already sealed, the point is of little significance to the Stallions who lead the group ahead of a Cape Verde outfit that meet Togo in the group's other clash on Sunday.

Mali 4-0 South Sudan

Mali strolled past South Sudan 4-0 to end their qualifying journey in the Cup of Nations on a high on Friday night.

It was a dominant start from the host who were ahead just inside the opening ten minutes following the kick-off courtesy of a well-taken finish from Ibrahima Kone.

The little-known but unfancied South Sudan continued to chase shadows and before anything conceded again in the space of a few minutes through Kamory Doumbia.

Doumbia was in the thick of things again when he made the most of a delivery following halftime and claimed a brace before Nene Dorgeles added a fourth later on to see out the contest.
