In what was Ghana's first competitive fixture since November 2019, Ayew was in inspired form on Thursday as he netted a brace to guide his country to a 2-0 Africa Cup of Nations Qualification Group C win over Sudan.
With 19 international strikes to his name in 91 appearances, Ayew is now the joint-seventh highest goalscorer in Ghana's recorded history, featuring alongside "Pele" and Osei Kofi on the nation's all-time top scorers list.
The Swansea City star's younger brother, Jordan, also features with 17 strikes for Ghana, although the trio all fall some way shy of record goalscorer and most-capped player Asamoah Gyan, who has scored an incredible 51 goals in 109 appearances on the international stage.
