It is reported that CAF could force a certain star playing in Europe to be excluded from the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
Just over three weeks remain before the prestigious showpiece gets underway in the Ivory Coast, with the tournament set to run from 13 January to 11 February 2024.

Earlier this week, CAF released a list of the provisional squads submitted by all the participating nations, with some countries having included injured players in their squads pending a recovery before their final teams for the tournament are announced.
Morocco are one of those sides who now find themselves in a tricky situation, as one of their key players, Noussair Mazraoui, picked up an injury earlier this month.
The Bayern Munich star sustained the injury during a UEFA Champions League clash against Manchester United on 12 December, potentially ruling him out until the end of January.
According to Al Araby, it is because of this that the defender may be excluded from participating at the showpiece in the Ivory Coast by CAF.
It is claimed the organisation has asked all teams to provide medical files on all elected players by 12 January, just one day before the tournaments start.
As such, any player who has not recovered from injury by that date will automatically be dropped from the final squad list, leaving the Bayern star in a precarious position as he may now push to recover ahead of time.

It is further stated that the CAF Medical Committee has requested official documentation on examinations for all players participating at the AFCON, include ECG, arterial analysis, and X-ray examinations at the ankle level, to ensure that no footballer is carrying an injury during the competition.
