DR Congo defender Dylan Batubinsika was proud of the team despite missing out on the bronze medal against Bafana Bafana.
The Leopards had to settle for a fourth-place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations after losing to South Africa on penalties.
Batubinsika was named Man of the Match despite the defeat, but the defender will only remember the positives from the tournament.
"I am pleased with this trophy (man of the match). I thank God for this. I think we can be proud of our tournament," the defender said, as per CAF.
"We performed well and we take the positives from this journey. Only a few expected us to reach this level and it is a positive take away to build for the future."
"I will only remember the positives from our journey. My best memory remains our victory against Egypt.
"It was a tough and difficult match and we emerged victorious against a quality side", he concluded.
