A Nigeria star who was ruled out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations due to injury has seemingly aimed a cheeky jab at South Africa after the Super Eagles knocked Bafana Bafana out of the tournament.
The west Africans booked their place in the competition's final after beating South Africa 4-2 on penalties on Wednesday night.

Going into the fixture, there were some exchanges between the two sets of fans, especially on social media.
This seemingly prompted the Nigeria High Commission in South Africa to publicly warn Nigerians living in Mzansi to refrain from wild celebrations if the team won the semi-final tie.
"Most of the comments consist of veiled threats against Nigerians cooking jollof rice before the match and showing pepper to Nigerians if the Bafana Bafana lose to the Super Eagles, among others," a statement from the commission read, per Sunday World.
"Refrain from engaging in loud, riotous, or provocative celebrations should the Super Eagles win the match. Additionally, Nigerians should maintain the good conduct they are known for and be law-abiding before, during, and after the match. Should any provocations arise, they should not be reciprocated but reported to the appropriate authorities."

The Super Eagles would go on to win the match on Wednesday night, much to the disappointment of many South Africa supporters.
However, Nigeria striker Victor Boniface, who was ruled out of the tournament before it commenced due to injury, has since seemingly rubbed salt into the wound by appearing to mock South Africa after the match.
The Bayer Leverkusen centre-forward wrote on X (translated from Nigerian Standard English): "To get a South African visa will be hard now."
