Zimbabwe have written to Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims demanding that Marshall Munetsi be released for international duty after the 24-year-old was withdrawn from the squad.
Munetsi was named in Zdravko Logarusic's squad for the Warriors' 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Algeria this week but was withdrawn from international duty by Reims after suffering an apparent injury over the weekend.
The former Orlando Pirates midfielder started and played the full 90 minutes during Les rouges et Blancs' 4-4 draw with Lens on Sunday, but was later found to have picked up a knock during the match by the club's medical staff.

The Zimbabwe Football Association appear to be dissatisfied by Reims' notice and have reportedly written back to the French outfit demanding that Munetsi be released in order for the national team to conduct its own assessments on the player.
"We have asked them to release the player so that he can be assessed by our doctors this side," Zimbabwe's general manager Wellington Mupandare said, per The Zimbabwe Daily.
Logarusic's outfit, who claimed a win and draw over Zambia and Botswana, respectively, in their opening two matches, return to action on Wednesday with an away trip to Algeria before hosting the reigning African champions four days later.
