Bafana Bafana group stage rivals Tunisia have explained why Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri was left out of the squad of the Africa Cup of Nations.
The North African side announced their final squad on Thursday, with Mejbri's omission the most surprising aspect of the announcement.

The 20-year-old has already made 27 appearances for the national side and was in the squad that competed at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
However, the midfielder will not be heading to Ivory Coast next month as coach Jalel Kadri is going through a tough period.
"I contacted Hannibal and he confirmed that he is currently going through a difficult and complicated circumstance with his team," the Tunisian tactician explained, as per Yallakora.
"Mentally, he is not ready and prefers to stay with his team and not participate in the African Nations."
The Tunisians have not won the Cup of nations since 2004, which also happened to be the last time they made the final.
