A former Al Ahly executive has claimed that the club’s current coach, Marcel Koller, has shown a tendency to turn against some of his players, a trait he believes Pitso Mosimane also demonstrated during his time in Cairo.
While Mosimane enjoyed significant success as Al Ahly boss, including back-to-back CAF Champions League titles, the South African tactician was reported to have had disagreements with a few players during his tenure.
Two notable examples are Egyptian stars Hossam Hassan and Kahraba, who both later revealed that they did not see eye to eye with Mosimane.

It now seems Koller is experiencing a similar situation at the club, with some players having left due to strained relations with the Swiss coach and Percy Tau reportedly being one such casualty.
Former Al Ahly official Adly El Keiy claims Koller has displayed behaviour reminiscent of Mosimane’s.
According to Kooora.com, El Keiy said during a television broadcast: "Over time, we’ve seen that when Koller turns against a player, he loses that sense of fairness, similar to what Pitso Mosimane, the former coach, used to do.
"I don’t understand the reason behind the coach’s stubbornness with certain players.
"I haven’t liked Koller's press conferences for the past year and a half, he always blames others and shifts the responsibility onto the management and players, and as a result, he's lost his connection with them. That’s a negative point."
Meanwhile, Koller's next assignment will be a semi-final clash against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League later this week.
