A Nigerian-based goalkeeper has now been tipped to replace Stanley Nwabali at Chippa United in the next transfer window.
Nwabali’s future at Chippa remains uncertain, with persistent speculation amid growing interest from elsewhere.
The Nigeria international has previously been linked with a number of potential moves, including to clubs in Europe, the Middle East, and South African giants Kaizer Chiefs.

Reports from Nigeria now suggest that Nwabali could be replaced by another player currently plying his trade in the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).
According to The Nation Online, Remo Stars goalkeeper Serge Obassa is said to have attracted interest from the Betway Premiership side and is seen as a possible successor to Nwabali at the Gqeberha-based club.
Obassa was recently called up to the Benin national team squad that faced Bafana Bafana in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, although he remained on the bench for that fixture.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season, reportedly keeping 12 clean sheets in 23 NPFL matches.
Meanwhile, Chippa United head coach Thabo September has hinted at possible departures from the club, including Nwabali.
“We will lose some, but there’s definitely a core we will keep,” said September, as per The Nation Online.
“It’s football. When you want to make your team better, you sell your better players, invest in younger players, and try to maintain stability.”
