An African starlet has revealed how former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney influenced his decision to move to England.
In May, the former England striker was appointed as manager of EFL Championship side Plymouth Argyle, who recently announced the signing of Nigerian striker Muhamed Tijani – a deal Rooney played a big role in getting over the line.

After completing his loan move from Slavia Prague, which is now just subject to EFL approval and international clearance, the 23-year-old revealed that his new manager phoned him personally in an attempt to persuade him to join the club.
During an interview with the English club after the big announcement, the attacker was asked if Rooney influenced his decision.
"Actually, he did," Tijani answered.
"He is a football legend not only in England but in the whole world. He plays like a striker also [like him].
"I think it is a good move for me, that's why I took the deal. He really influenced the move, because when he called, I was like, 'Wow! Look who is calling, it's Wayne Rooney.'
"I was shocked. I had to ask my agent, 'Are you sure it's him?'
"He said, 'Yes, it's him, of course, just take the call,' and then we spoke, and it was very good."
The former Three Lions captain, meanwhile, was full of praise for his new signing.
"Muhamed joining further strengthens our forward line and he will bring different attributes to the squad," Rooney said, per the Pilgrims' official website.
"He is big, athletic and can run in behind, but is equally as good at holding the ball up and bringing other players into play.
"He has played and scored in the Europa League so comes with good pedigree, but is also young and keen to improve. We are really looking forward to working with him."

Tijani's loan deal comes with an option for Argyle to buy him at the end of the season.
