Al Ahly are reportedly set to receive a massive $2 million (R35.4 million) cash prize after their recent cup triumph, which sets them up for a potential clash against Real Madrid in December.
Earlier this week, Al Ahly were crowned champions of the African–Asian–Pacific Cup after thrashing United Arab Emirates side Al-Ain 3-0 at the Cairo International Stadium in Egypt.

The result means that Percy Tau's side will face the winner between Mexican side Pachuca and the yet-to-be confirmed CONMEBOL champions on 14 December.
Should Ahly win that clash, they will advance to the final of the inaugural FIFA Intercontinental Cup on 18 December, where they would go up against European champions Real.
In the meantime, Marcel Koller's charges are now said to have secured a tidy R35.4 million in prize money for their victory in the African–Asian–Pacific Cup.
According to FilGoal.com, Ahly source claims: "We received a notification from FIFA to receive the Intercontinental Cup prizes in one payment next January.
"Al Ahly secured $2 million initially after defeating Al-Ain and winning the Tri-Continental Cup title.
"There will be other financial prizes, the amount of which will be determined after Al-Ahly's position is decided."
Since joining the club in September 2022, Koller has won an impressive 11 trophies, with his latest cup success adding to his two Egyptian Premier League titles, two Egypt Cup triumphs, two CAF Champions League honours, and four Egyptian Super Cups.
"I now have 11 titles under my belt with Ahly!" Koller proudly declared during a press conference on Tuesday, according to Ahram Online.
