Al Ahly 'make decision' on bid from Euro club for star man

Egyptian giants Al Ahly have reportedly made their decision after receiving a new bid from a European club who are in hot pursuit of one of the African side's star players.

The Red Devils have turned down a second offer from Ligue 1 side OGC Nice for defender Mohamed Abdelmonem as the French side did not meet their asking price, according to KingFut

This comes after Les Aiglons reportedly submitted an initial bid of $2.5 million (R46 million), which was rejected.

Nice are then believed to have gone back with a second offer of $3.5 million (R65 million), which was once again turned away.

The 12-time CAF Champions League winners are claimed to have slapped a price tag of $6 million (R111 million) on the centre-back, and are thought to want to see a bid much closer to that figure before they will consider letting him leave.

It has been suggested that Nice are looking at the 25-year-old as a potential replacement for French defender Jean-Clair Todibo, who has been linked with a potential move away from the Ligue 1 side.

However, the French side is seemingly facing competition for Abdelmonem's signature as "several European clubs" are said to be interested in securing the Egyptian's services.

Reports have previously suggested that Serie A outfit Bologna are huge admirers of the player and see him as a potential replacement for Riccardo Calafiori, who recently completed a move to Arsenal.

Abdelmonem has made 115 appearances for Al Ahly to date, scoring eight goals in the process and helping the side to back-to-back CAF Champions League triumphs.
