Al Ahly 'make decision' on massive Tau request

Al Ahly have now reportedly made a decision on a massive request made by Percy Tau.

It has been claimed the South African attacker is close to leaving the Red Devils in the current transfer window, and is said to have laid down his conditions for an exit.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns former requested an estimated $1.2 million (about R21 million) to terminate his contract with the Egyptian giants and leave during the current window, according to Dar El Hilal.

It has also been said that negotiations are ongoing as the Red Devils work to manufacture a move for the ex-Brighton Hove Albion star before his deal expires at the end of the 2024/25 season.

This comes after Al Ahly boss Marcel Koller was believed to have informed the club's hierarchy that he would be fine with Tau leaving in order to bring in another foreign player as his replacement, which is suggested to have caused a rift between him and the attacker.

However, the 12-time CAF Champions League winners are now said to have rejected the Bafana Bafana star's abovementioned request.

It is further claimed that the 30-year-old has emphasised that he is willing to play out the rest of his contract, and that if the club do want to see him leave, they must give him his financial due.

The South Africa international has recently been linked with the north African giants now managed by Rulani Mokwena, Wydad Athletic Club, as well as domestic rivals Zamalek.
