Egyptian giants Al Ahly are now reportedly preparing a special offer for Percy Tau following his performances at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Former Egypt defender-turned-television presenter Ibrahim Said has stated that the South African attacker may be on the verge of securing a new three-year deal with the Red Devils.

The former centre-back further claimed that the club's hierarchy was impressed by the 29-year-old's "brilliant" performances at the ongoing AFCON tournament.
The former Brighton Hove Albion star helped South Africa reach the semi-finals, where they were knocked out by Nigeria on Wednesday night, losing 4-2 on penalties after regular as well as extra-time were not enough to separate the two sides.
However, with Bafana now out of the running for the continental showpiece's main prize, Tau will soon return to Egypt, where it is said that a potentially mouth-watering contract extension is being put together.
"The planning committee, in co-ordination with Mahmoud Al-Khatib, president of Al Ahly club, decided to prepare a special offer to extend Percy Tau's contract, following his return from participating with his country's national team at the currently held African Championship," Said stated on Egyptian television channel Al Nahar, via Masr Times.
"The committee insisted on the player's continuation after his brilliance with his country's national team and Al Ahly before his participation in the tournament, in addition to his statements that he is happy within the club.
"The Contracting Department, headed by Amir Tawfiq, has drawn up a vision for the new contract which includes a financial increase over the current one along with some privileges, incentive clauses, and bonuses for scoring goals and winning championships, to convince him to stay, in light of him receiving strong offers from clubs awaiting the end of his contract."

Said also claimed that the former Mamelodi Sundowns star had previously requested an initial annual salary of $1.7 million (around R32 million) that would increase by $100 000 (about R1.9 million) yearly for three seasons during negotiations.
The club's executives, however, are believed to have denied the South African's request.
"Al-Ahly's management confirmed that these financial demands exceeded what was agreed upon, especially since the player will receive $1.4 million (R26 million) in his next and final season, and an offer will be prepared with a lower number, in light of the hard currency crisis and the great suffering in managing foreigners' dues within the club," Said continued.
"Al-Ahly's offer is scheduled for the player to receive $1.5 million (R28 million) annually, with an increase of $100 000, while offering other rewards, but in the local currency."
