Al Ahly 'set' Tau price tag amid European links

With Percy Tau being linked with a club in Europe, Al Ahly have reportedly set a price tag for him that would have to be met.

The South African attacker is said to have attracted the interest of Super Lig side Sivasspor, with negotiations believed to be taking place between the two parties.

It has also been said that the Bafana Bafana star had been suggested to the club by his agents, and that Sivasspor's technical staff are "largely convinced" by the player and his abilities.

Now, according to an insider cited by Tarkesa, Red Devils president Mahmoud El Khatib agreed to let Tau leave the club during the current transfer window. 

He and the club's hierarchy are believed to have approved the 30-year-old's departure, but on the condition that the Super Lig outfit lays down an offer that exceeds $2 million (R35 million).

It has further been claimed that the attacker has reached an agreement with Sivasspor that covers his salary, accommodation, contract length and other details that would relate to the move. 

The former Brighton Hove Albion star is also said to have contacted Al Ahly officials to let them know about his desire to leave the Egyptian giants.

This comes after head coach Marcel Koller was believed to have informed the club's hierarchy that he would approve the 30-year-old's sale to replace him with another foreign player.
