Ex-Al Ahly Star reveals bet With Mosimane

A former Al Ahly star has revealed the bet he made with coach Pitso Mosimane, which he ended up winning up.

Ahmed Yasser Rayan left Al Ahly in 2022 to join Cermacia Cleopatra after he struggled to get regular game time under the South African tactician.

The Egyptian striker reveals Mosimane was honest with him and opened about the bet he made when he left the club and scored 15 goals,

"I spoke with Mosimane and told him that I only wanted a chance to play," Rayan told Sada El-Balad TV channel.

"He made it clear that it would be difficult for me to start games at Al Ahly, so I asked him to go out on loan and I told him that I would be the league's top scorer.

"He had doubts back then, but when I scored 15 goals that season, he said that I had won the bet we had and promised me game time, but it was unfortunate that he left the club.

"The day I left Al Ahly was very difficult for me after spending 18 years at the club," he added.
