Ex-Sundowns star now linked with African giants

A recently departed Mamelodi Sundowns star is now reportedly set for a trial at one of Africa's biggest teams.

Two players have parted ways with Sundowns following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, with midfielder Bongani Zungu having announced his exit on Instagram last week, while coach Rulani Mokwena also recently announced that winger Abubeker Nasir is no longer a player at the club.

New reports now indicate that the aforementioned Ethiopian star is already looking for his next move away from South Africa.

According to GHANAsoccernet, the 24-year-old is now set for trials with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko after he was invited by the club for an assessment.

It is claimed the attacker will undergo a one-week trial, with the prospect of signing a permanent deal should he impress.

Nasir made just three appearances in all competitions for Sundowns last season, having spent the majority of the campaign injured.
