A couple former Nigeria stars have criticised the Nigerian Football Federation's desire to bring in a foreign coach to help with the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
New coach George Finidi has got off to a tough start with the national side after drawing with South Africa and losing to Benin in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers this past week.
There have been reports of the NFF looking to make a change in the coaching department as they remain winless in the qualifiers after four matches played.

The NFF have confirmed they are looking to a bring in a foreign coach to help Finidi after the tough start, but 2013 Africa CUp of Nations winner Azubuike Egwuekwe is not happy with the decision.
"How convinced are they that the foreign coach will win the remaining six games?" Egwueke told the PUNCH.
"I am very disappointed because we don't need a foreigner. Finidi just played two (competitive) games, he drew and lost one.
"They should have stuck with him for a longer time. I feel he should have gotten more support.
"This will also affect the home-based players as foreign coaches rarely look at the NPFL."
Former Super Eagles midfielder Friday Ekpo also questioned the NFF's intention to introduce a foreign coach.
"So, what will they do if the foreigner they are bringing loses or draws his first game? Sack him? They are not serious, they should allow Finidi to build for the future," Ekpo added.
"They should about the long term, bringing an expatriate as a technical adviser is a wrong thing to do.
"When Peseiro was here and was losing, did they employ a technical adviser for him? You gave him a job to do and in less than two months you are bringing someone else to boss him. Something is wrong somewhere."
