With the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on the hunt to fill their vacant managerial position, a former Real Madrid player has now thrown his name into the hat.
The search for a new coach comes after the resignation of Finidi George. who cited "changes to the team's technical crew" as the main reason behind his decision to vacate the role earlier this month.

The NFF are reported to be eyeing two-time Africa Cup of Nations winner Herve Renard as their replacement after he announced that he would be parting ways with the France women's national team after the 2024 Olympic games in Paris.
Now, however, former Nigeria and Real Madrid midfielder Mutiu Adepoju has expressed an interest in becoming George's successor.
The 53-year-old has only managed one team in his career to date, but appears to be confident in the coaching credentials he holds.
"We had several players in the Castilla team who are brilliant coaches today, and we didn't see it at the time," Adepoju said on the Managing Madrid podcast, per Soccernet.ng.
"I have a UEFA Pro license myself, so if there's an opportunity, I wouldn't mind. I'm open.
"I once coached Shooting Stars in Nigeria, but I haven't coached since then."
During his playing career, the retired midfielder represented Real Madrid's B team, made 67 appearances and scoring 27 goals in the process, and helped the side win the Segunda Division B title on one occasion.
