A former Al Ahly star has now revealed how South African manager Pitso Mosimane "wronged" him during his time at the club.
Ali Lotfi represented the Red Devils between January 2018 and July 2023, working under the South African tactician as well as current Red Devils boss Marcel Koller.

The player has since been plying his trade at Egyptian Premier League side Zed FC.
Speaking to former Ahly goalkeeper-turned-journalist Ahmed Shobeir, Lotfi has alluded to the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss as being the reason he missed a number of matches during his time with the 12-time CAF Champions League winners.
"I did not feel wronged in Al Ahly, but there were periods when I showed well," Lotfi said, per Al Masry Al Youm.
"However, I found myself not participating in some matches, and Pitso Mosimane wronged me, even though he said that I was one of the reasons for the club's third place in the [FIFA] Club World Cup."
The former Abha Club coach had guided the Red Devils to consecutive third-place finishes at the Club World Cup in 2020 and 2021.

Lotfi went on to reveal that he was dismayed after missing out on participating in the 2022/23 CAFCL final against Moroccan outfit Wydad AC.
Al Ahly won the two-legged final 3-2 on aggregate. Lotfi, however, was on the bench for both matches.
"I was upset because I did not play the African Champions League final against Wydad of Morocco, and Mostafa Shobeir participated in my place [in the first leg], but [Marcel] Koller spoke to me before the camp, and assured me that he needed me to be on the list, and basically the reason for not playing me was that I had suffered an injury. Although I recovered from it and told Koller about it."
