Ex-Pirates coach 'in talks' with Zamalek

A former Orlando Pirates coach is reportedly in talks to take charge of Egyptian giants Zamalek, but there is one condition.

The White Knight are currently without a head coach after Portuguese tactician Jose Gomes stepped down from his role after receiving an offer from an unnamed club.

Jose Zinnbauer is currently a free agent after parting ways with Saudi Pro League side Al-Wheda following a string of poor results.

The German tactician is no stranger to North Africa, having previously managed Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, where he lead the team to the league title without suffering a single defeat.

Reports in Egypt claim that Zinnbauer has already spoken with the CAF Confederation Cup holders over a zoom meeting to discuss the head coach role.

According to Egyptian outlet Al-Jumhuriya, Zinnbauer is open to taking the job on condition that the club allows him to bring in his own backroom staff.

The former Raja coach would like an assistant coach, a performance analyst, a fitness trainer, and a goalkeeping trainer.

Zamalek are currently second in the Egyptian Premier League standings, having won three of their opening four fixtures.
