Zinnbauer facing competition from Soweto giants boss for Raja job?

Raja Athletic Club are said to have shortlisted three coaches to take over the reins at the club, with Josef Zinnbauer and a Soweto giants coach reportedly among the candidates.

Last Friday, Portuguese manager Ricardo Sá Pinto and his coaching staff officially parted ways with Raja following a run of underwhelming results.

The 52-year-old lasted just 11 matches in charge, with only two of those ending in victories.

In his last game in charge, Sá Pinto claimed a 2-1 league victory over Union Touarga; however, he revealed in his post-match press conference that his time at the club was over.

"I have never experienced such pressure in my entire career. My staff and I cannot continue under these circumstances. It's impossible to work alone and remain optimistic throughout the season," Sá Pinto said, according to DailySports.net.

"I am a coach who values being close to supporters; that's my way of working. But now, we've reached a breaking point. I understand that the fans no longer want me at Raja."

Reports in Morocco now suggest that Raja are wasting very little time finding a replacement, with three coaches having already been earmarked.

According to Al Jarida24, the Casablanca giants have lined up Zinnbauer, Mohamed Fakhir, and Kaizer Chiefs boss Nasreddine Nabi as their three front-runners for the job.

Zinnbauer is said to have a special relationship with the club's fans and executives, with whom he had a meeting at a restaurant two weeks ago.

The report indicates that Nabi's experience in coaching in Morocco is appreciated by the Raja hierarchy after his impressive spell with FAR Rabat last season.

It is also noted that negotiations with foreign coaches have been difficult for the side, which is why local coach Fakhir has been shortlisted as well.
