Koller 'angry' with Al Ahly sacking

Marcel Koller is reportedly angry with being sacked by Al Ahly following the team's CAF Champions League elimination.

The Egyptian giants announced over the weekend that they have parted ways with the Swiss tactician after they failed to beat Mamelodi Sudnowns in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.

Al Ahly were denied a sixth successive appearance in the Champions League final and will miss the chance to claim a third straight title.

According to Kooora, Koller was not happy with the decision to sack him, especially with the FIFA Club World Cup coming up in June.

"Kohler was very angry about the decision to sack him, and he believes he deserves to be there and continue to lead the team in the Club World Cup," a source told Kooora.

"Kohler is also very angry about being pelted with water bottles after the end of the Sundowns match."

The source noted, "Kohler's contract extends until the summer of 2026, but the final season will be activated with the consent of both parties."

He concluded, "The current crisis revolves around the interpretation of the penalty clause, and whether Kohler's salary will be paid until the end of the current season or until June 2026."
