Moroccan boss denies Rulani's racism allegations

Following alleged racist remarks aimed at Rulani Mokwena, Ittihad Tanger boss Hilal Et-Tair has come out to defend his team.

One of his staff members is said to have racially abused the South African manager during their 2-2 draw against Wydad Athletic Club over the weekend.

According to the Red Castle, the former Mamelodi Sundowns coach was subjected to "unacceptable racist behaviour" at the end of the encounter.

The staff member's "abusive and racist words towards the coach led to some skirmishes between players".

Speaking after the match, Et-Tair promised to look into the matter while defending his staff, saying that there are no racist people within the walls of his club.

The manager has come out once again, this time to explain what he had found after his internal investigation.

"The individual in question assured me that he did not utter any racist remarks against Wydad's coach, and I saw him approaching the referees to shake hands after the match, while Mokwena was speaking to them," the coach said on a radio show per Le Siteinfo

"I reprimanded the medical staff member the next day for standing near Wydad's coach and the referees, despite the large field area of over 120 meters.

"The individual assured me that he did not direct any insults at Mokwena and celebrated Union Tangier's goal naturally in the stands."
