Wydad Athletic Club's newly elected president has confirmed the expectations for coach Rulani Mokwena ahead of his first season in charge of the Moroccan team.
It was announced late on Wednesday night that Hicham Ait Menna was elected as new president of Wydad following the resignation of previous head, Abdelmajid Bernaki, from the role on 27 June.

Menna is said to have been the brains behind Mokwena's appointment earlier this month, and the senior chief has now indicated what the club intends to achieve under his collaboration with the former Mamelodi Sundowns boss.
Speaking to Moroccan outlet Le360 Sport, Menna said: "We plan to win the Botola and the Throne Cup, and to honour the Moroccan people at the 2025 Club World Cup."
The club also announced four new signings on Tuesday, namely Abdelali Mhamdi, Jawad Khalouk, Mohamed Moufid, and Mohamed Rayhi.
"Recruitment has started. Not all the players that were contacted have signed, but we have already finalised several. We have transfer deals to conclude in progress," Menna added.
"According to our forecasts, we expect that 90% of the planned squad will be present on August 1st, the date of the start of the training camp.
"We expect that the remaining 10% will finish their contracts so that their clubs can make decisions about their futures."
In apparent attempt to further reassure the club's supporters, Menna also said that the objective is "to bring Wydad back to the place it deserves".

Notably, Wydad went trophyless last season as then-Josef Zinnbauer-led Raja Casablanca claimed both the Throne Cup and 2023/24 league title without losing a single match.
