Ex-Sundowns striker on the move again in China?

It is now being reported that Zimbabwean striker Nyasha Mushekwi could join a new club in China.

Mushekwi was instrumental in his side Yunnan Yukun's success last season, as he helped them win promotion from the 2024 Chinese League One to the 2025 Chinese Super League.

The striker also won the Golden Boot award in the second tier after scoring 25 goals in 30 games for Yunnan Yukun.

However, it is now being reported that the former Mamelodi Sundowns star might not see out his contract with Yunnan Yukun, which is due to expire in December 2025.

According to reports in China, Mushekwi is set to remain in the Chinese second tier with newly promoted team Dalian Kun City.

Reports of Mushekwi's potential exit from Yunnan Yukun come at a time when the club is linked with signing another African striker, Congolese marksman Oscar Maritu.

Maritu recently made headlines after he was said to be undergoing a naturalisation process in China to attain citizenship, which would allow him to represent the Asian nation in senior international football.

According to China.org, Yunnan Yukun and Maritu have agreed on a three-year contract with a one-year option to extend.
