OFFICIAL: Gamondi axed by Yanga

Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC have officially parted ways with manager Miguel Gamondi.

The club's decision comes after the Dar es Salaam-based outfit went into the international break in second position on the league table, one point behind Fadlu Davids' Simba SC.

Yanga endured back-to-back defeats in their most recent outings, falling 1-0 to Azam FC before suffering a 3-1 loss at the hands of Tabora United FC earlier this month.

The club confirmed that with the Argentine now gone, the hunt for a replacement has commenced.

"The management of Young Africans Sports Club wishes to inform the public that the contract with the Head Coach of the first team, Angel Miguel Gamondi, has been terminated," the Tanzania Premier League outfit confirmed in an official statement.

"Similarly, the management has also terminated the contract of the Assistant Coach of the first team, Moussa Ndaw.

"The management of Young Africans Sports Club extends its gratitude to both coaches for their contributions to our club and wishes them all the best in their future endeavours.

"A swift process to identify and appoint new coaches for our first team has already begun and is expected to be completed shortly."

The Argentine tactician took over at Yanga from Nasreddine Nabi at the beginning of the 2023/24 season, and instantly guided the side to domestic glory in convincing fashion, winning 26 of their 30 matches to secure a third consecutive league title.
