Motsepe makes final decision on CAF elections

Dr Patrice Motsepe has made a final decision on the upcoming CAF President elections.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns chairman was elected CAF president unopposed in 2021, becoming the seventh to occupy the position.

The African football governing body has confirmed that Motsepe will run for re-election after numerous requests.

"Following requests from numerous CAF Member Association Presidents, Zonal Union Presidents and key stakeholders, the CAF President, Dr Patrice Motsepe has finally agreed to stand as a candidate at the CAF Presidential Elections scheduled for March 2025." CAF announced in a statement.

Motsepe has received praise from various members in African football, commending him for his work in the last the years.

"I would like to acknowledge the support Zonal Unions are receiving from CAF," President of WAFU A Lamin Kaba Bajo said.

"The increased financial support from CAF has been invaluable for us at Zonal levels.

"We thank President Motsepe for his leadership and the tone he has set at CAF."
