Pitso Mosimane has now reportedly been linked with the vacant head coach role at one of the biggest teams in Africa.
According to former Al Ahly goalkeeper-turned-journalist Ahmed Schubert, via ElBaladTV, the newly appointed coach of Saudi Pro League side Abha Club has been considered for the Egypt national team job.

This comes after Portuguese manager Rui Vitoria was relieved of his duties on Sunday following what many consider to be a disappointing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign for the Egyptians.
The Pharaohs were knocked out by DR Congo in the round of 16 after a winless round of group-stage fixtures, in which they managed to accumulate only three points.
French tactician Herve Renard was believed to be the Egyptian Football Association's first choice for the position, while DR Congo coach Sebastien Desabre, Nigeria's Jose Peseiro, and Bafana Bafana boss Hugo Broos have also been listed as potential successors to Vitoria, and Pharaohs legend Hossam Hassan is also reportedly being considered.
Schubert, though, has insisted Mosimane's name was "frequently mentioned" during discussions about the future leadership of the national side.
He added that the South African tactician has previously expressed a desire to coach the Pharaohs if the association to enter negotiations with him.
The former Al Ahly head coach was announced as Abha's new manager on a short-term deal late last month – his contract is scheduled to end in June – and is now tasked with keeping them in the Saudi top flight.
