Raja 'receive' huge boost ahead of Downs encounter

The Green Eagles began their CAF CL journey with a 2-0 defeat to AS FAR, followed by a lacklustre 1-1 draw against Congolese side AS Maniema Union.

Their lone point thus far came courtesy of Youness Najari's 17th-minute strike in their second outing, a goal that helped the team avoid back-to-back losses.

However, the 28-year-old talisman was forced off the field with an injury, raising concerns about his availability for the crucial tie against the high-flying Brazilians.

According to Achtari 24, those fears have now been allayed, as the team doctor has cleared Najari to return to action.

The outlet reported that the star forward has resumed training "without restrictions," offering a timely boost for under-fire coach Ricardo Sa Pinto. The publication also hailed Najari as "a new winning card" for the Portuguese coach, whose position at the helm is reportedly under review.

The outcome of the match against Sundowns could play a pivotal role in determining his future with the Casablanca-based club. Raja's struggles extend beyond the continental stage, with the team enduring a rocky domestic season.

They have managed just four victories in 12 Botola Pro 1 matches.Reports suggest that the club's management has delayed making a definitive decision on Sa Pinto's tenure until after the showdown with the reigning South African champions.
