The defeat leaves Yanga rooted to the bottom of Group A with no points from their opening matches.
Speaking after the match, MC Alger manager Patrice Beaumelle expressed his delight at overcoming the Tanzanian outfit, a side often regarded as a formidable force in continental competitions.
"I am very happy with this win against Young Africans, who have been performing brilliantly in African competitions for several seasons," the coach said, as quoted by CAFonline.
"Our win against Young Africans is well-deserved. We now have four points after drawing away to TP Mazembe and winning at home against Young Africans. This makes me very happy.
"I take my hat off to the players and the entire technical team. I am satisfied because we played a complete game."
The result puts MC Alger in a strong position with four points, following their earlier away draw against TP Mazembe.
Beaumelle and his squad will now aim to build on their momentum in the remaining group-stage fixtures.
