As such, the DStv Premiership-winning coach is said to have attracted the interest of various clubs in North Africa, one of them being Wydad, who have come off an underwhelming 2023/24 campaign.
The Botola Pro 1 side finished in sixth place on the league table, amassing 44 points after winning just 12 of their of their 30 matches.
The side are now looking for a new manager and with Mokwena having been linked, Wydad president Hicham Ait Menna has denied to agreeing any terms with the South African coach, according to Moroccan news site Anfas Press.
He is, however, said to have revealed that a decision has not yet been made, and that the club has shortlisted several managers as candidates to take over the role.
The president is also believed to have confirmed that the final decision on who will lead the club going forward will be made within the next few days.
