The 43-year-old could not have wished for a better start to life as Simba's head coach as he finds himself top of the league after picking up a 3-0 victory against Tabora United FC on the opening day.
His side then went on to thump Singida Big Stars FC by four goals to nil.
The opening encounters also saw new signings Steven Mukwala, Jean Charles Ahoua and Valentino Mashaka all open their accounts for the club.
After a positive start to the new campaign, Davids will be hoping his team can keep the momentum going and eventually improve on the third-place finish the Reds of Msimbazi managed last season.
Simba will be back in action when they take on Libyan outfit Al Ahli SC in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup's second preliminary round on Friday, 13 September.
